Payment and renewal
Who charges you
Payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for the subscription. That is why its name is the one on your statement, it issues the receipt, and taxes and any refund go through it. The accepted payment methods appear at checkout and vary by country and currency.
Pro is unlocked the moment payment is confirmed.
Renewal happens on its own
At the end of each period, the subscription renews with the same payment method, without you doing anything, until it is cancelled.
So no email from us will ask you to pay again to stay on Pro. And subscribing again from the plans page would not renew the current subscription: it would open a second one, charged alongside the first. That is why, for anyone already subscribed, the plans page does not show the subscribe button.
When a payment is declined
If the renewal charge fails — expired card, credit limit, a block from the bank —, the subscription goes into arrears, and Pro carries on for 3 more days after the end of the period. That is the window to change the card.
The change is made with Paddle, on its secure page that My account opens. If you have trouble, write to [email protected]. If the payment is not sorted out within that window, the account moves to the free plan, with your settings kept.
To stop renewal on purpose, the way is different: Cancelling, changing plan and deleting the account.
