The three ready-made rules
The My rules menu comes with three ready-made rules that go in with one click. They exist to shorten the start, not to be followed: the conditions are spelled out here so you can adjust the number instead of accepting ours.
Pressing without scoring (15′)
On target (15′) greater than 2 and Goals scored (15′) equal to 0
Lights up when the two sides together have hit the target more than twice in the last fifteen minutes and nobody has scored in that window.
It describes a quarter of an hour of shooting without a goal. It says nothing about the next move — and it is worth remembering that a match can spend the whole game like that.
Pressing without scoring (5′)
On target (5′) greater than or equal to 2 and Goals scored (5′) equal to 0
The same idea in a shorter window, and stricter per minute: two shots on target in five minutes is a much higher rate than three in fifteen. It lights up less often and later, because the five-minute window only starts counting after the sixth minute of each half.
Match speeding up
Acceleration (5′) greater than 1.5 and Acceleration (15′) greater than 1.5
Lights up when the rhythm of the last five minutes and that of the last fifteen are both above one and a half times the match's average rhythm.
The two windows together are the point: the five-minute one alone would light up on any isolated move, and the fifteen-minute one alone would miss the recent change. Requiring both, what lights up is a match that changed rhythm and stayed there.
Acceleration adds dangerous attacks and shots on target and compares them with the match's average rhythm — the arithmetic is in what each column measures. A match speeding up is not a match about to score: it can speed up without anyone hitting the target.
Why adjusting beats accepting
The numbers 2, 1.5 and 0 came from our own observation, not from a calculation. They light up at a reasonable rate on an ordinary day, and that is all we can say for them.
If one of them lights up in twenty matches an afternoon, it is loose for you; if it never lights up, it is tight. Change the number and see. The rule is yours from the second click on.
